Caixa has a new president after allegations of harassment; know how to identify and report practice

After a series of allegations of sexual harassment made by employees of Caixa Econômica Federal, the bank has a new president. Daniella Marques took over on Tuesday (5) with a speech to combat the practice of abuse within the institution.

In addition to former president Pedro Guimarães, the victims reported to the Federal Public Ministry that other bank executives also practiced sexual and moral harassment, or were conniving with the practices.

Cases of harassment in the workplace in Brazil have epidemic numbers. Research shows that more than a third of Brazilian workers have already been victims of moral harassment and about 10% have suffered sexual harassment at work.

To talk about the progress of investigations at Caixa, Muriel Porfiro talks in this episode with analyst CNN Basilia Rodrigues.

Nildete Santana de Oliveira, PhD in Law from the University Center (Uniceub) and President of the Women’s Lawyer Commission of the OAB/DF (Brazilian Bar Association of the Federal District) speaks in the episode about the difference between the types of harassment, punishments and the why it is important to denounce these practices.
