The new president of Caixa, Daniella Marques, will create a committee to investigate allegations of sexual harassment against her predecessor, according to interlocutors of the executive.
On Wednesday (29), Pedro Guimarães resigned from the presidency of the state bank after an investigation by the Federal Public Ministry became public.
The crisis committee will be interdisciplinary, with experts from the legal, compliance, marketing, etc. areas. The objective is to investigate the allegations and identify whether other bank executives covered up the alleged crimes.
It also has the function of isolating the crisis, preserving Caixa’s image and maintaining the bank’s programs such as Casa Verde Amarela, the payment of Auxílio Brasil, among others.
The executive still has to go through Caixa’s eligibility committee before taking office. Daniella’s interlocutors say that she wants to prevent the episode from paralyzing the bank, but also to investigate the case rigorously.
The report, with anonymous testimonies from five Caixa employees denouncing sexual harassment and harassment by the now ex-president Pedro Guimarães, was published on the Metropoles portal.
