One police operation arrested, this Thursday (6), prostitutes accused of extortion practices, in Rio de Janeiro .
The arrests took place in São João de Meriti, Baixada Fluminense.
Three people were detained: Ronaldo da Silva Gonçalves, Cynara Ferreira da Silva (mother of one of the prostitutes) and Fábio dos Santos Pita Junior, known as “Pedro Dominador”.
Delegate Álvaro de Oliveira Gomes, head of the 21st DP (Bonsucesso), told CNN that one of the victims found “Pedro Dominador” on dating sites and shortly after the first meetings, he was threatened with the possible publication of intimate photos.
The suspects worked together, at first, only one blackmailed the victim, but later, more than one criminal entered the scene and also sent messages threatening the release of intimate photos and videos. Another part of the gang managed the money obtained from crime.
A CNN had access to audio recordings of criminals threatening and extorting potential victims.
“I’m going to tell your dad that we were dating and hooking up and he’ll sort it out. If you don’t resolve it, he will pay. I will send photos and videos, because I recorded everything. Look, see if this isn’t your father. I think it’s good for you to answer me. I’ll give you 30 minutes to think”, threatened one of the criminals.
In total, at least five victims were identified, one of which disbursed almost R$75,000 in payments to the suspects.
“The fearful victim obviously gave in to blackmail and started making payments, when he [criminoso] felt that the victim was already cooling down, especially because he no longer had that much money, he started demanding new amounts, sending photos of his relatives’ details”, says the police chief
According to the delegate, the suspects will be charged with extortion and criminal association.
