In a statement to the Cajamar (SP) police, Maicol Antonio Sales dos Santos, who confessed to murdering Vitória Regina de Sousa earlier this month, said the alleged causes that led him to commit the crime.
According to Maicol, both had a rapid involvement about a year ago, the suspect also said he did not know that Victoria was still a teenager, arguing that the girl had already graduated in high school.
The perpetrator said the victim threatened him, saying that he would tell about the case to his wife since at the time he was already in a relationship.
Concerned about the end of the relationship, Maicol decided to find her to talk, looking for the bus stops in the region where she normally descended. Unsuccessfully, she chose to return home until she found her back.
The confessed killer said he called the victim to talk to his car, who accepted and entered. Asking him to stop the threats, Vitória would have assaulted him and, amid aggression, Maicol took a knife he carried next to the driver’s seat and struck two blows against the victim.
According to Maicol, Vitória died shortly after the second blow.
The body
In the testimony, Maicol said that soon after the events, he put the body of victory in the trunk and returned home to seek a hoe to bury it.
The perpetrator said he does not know how her body was unearthed, nor how the victim’s hair was removed. He also said he had not returned to the place where his body was buried.
About where the body was found, Maicol said he had buried it in a distant location from where he was found. He said that when he saw the repercussion of the press, he did not worry because he thought it was another body.
Victoria’s clothes, by her cell phone and a bag she carried were burned by Maicol the next day. He states that he dismissed the waste in a dumpster near a city soccer field.
Crime weapon
Also according to the statement, the weapon used in the crime was a 3.5 cm wide knife. According to the statement, Maicol usually took the gun with him, which was hidden between the armrest and the driver’s seat.
Maicol also stated that the crime weapon was discarded in a river that exists on the way home.
IML report
THE CNN had access to the Forensic Medical Institute (IML) report on the death of the young. The expert points out that she did not suffer sexual violence and was murdered with three stab wounds, different from that indicated by Maicol’s testimony.
The cause of death was traumatic bleeding due to the lesions caused by the blows.
Alcohol was found in the victim’s blood, but, according to the report, indicates “a process of fermentation characteristic of putrefaction ”.

The São Paulo police stated that Maicol Antonio Sales dos Santos was the only perpetrator of the crime.
The information was confirmed by delegate Luiz Carlos do Carmo, director of the Macro São Paulo Judicial Police Department (Demacro). Police revealed that Maicol was “obsessed” by Victoria and has been following her since last year.
“Last night he wanted to confess the crime. The confession was taken by Dr. Fabio. It was very clear that he was obsessed with the victim,” said Dr. Carmo in conversation with the press.
