The Castellón Provincial Council and the Government of Spain intend to formalize a collaboration agreement in February that will give rise to the creation of a Rural Innovation hub in the province, a nerve center geared towards promoting policies that provide responses to the demographic challenge, for whose activation a technical monitoring committee has been created in the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO).
This has been shown in the course of the telematic meeting that the provincial deputy for Rural Development, Santi Pà © rez, has held with the general secretary for the Demographic Challenge of MITECO, Paco Boya, and technicians from the Department. As Pà © rez explained, â € œThis is a Pilot experience for the implementation of both innovation hubs in the provinces of Castellón and Palencia, which should serve as the basis for its subsequent implementation in other areas of Spain. It is a powerful initiative» in which, according to the ministry Important Spanish companies are very interested who understand that these types of projects have to do with their social responsibility and the improvement of corporate image.
For his part, the President of the Provincial Council, Josà © MartÃ, who celebrates the business interest, considers that this is great news because it is a way to generate intelligence in the territory by establishing innovative pilot projects and explore models that contribute to responding to the challenges of the 21st century from the rural sphere. Hubs are physical and virtual spaces in which administrations, companies, entrepreneurs and investors come together to promote collaborative work, co-creation and mutual learning. We are facing a decided commitment to entrepreneurship with projects promoted by people from the territory or investors from outside who are willing to generate wealth in the interior of our province.
Martà adds that the MITECO’s choice of the province of Castellon for the implementation of a project of these characteristics is important for the Castellon Council.
