Chamber approves MP to readjust freight table when diesel fluctuates more than 5%

The plenary of the Chamber of Deputies approved, this Tuesday (30), a Provisional Measure that provides for the readjustment of the table of minimum floors for road freight transport when the price of diesel oil in the national market fluctuates by more than 5%. , more or less.

The National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) is responsible for publishing the rules with the minimum floors to be paid for freight, as well as the spreadsheet used to obtain the respective minimum floors.

The publication of the floors and the spreadsheet takes place until January 20th and July 20th of each year, and the values are valid for the semester in which the standard is edited. When the rule is not published in time, the previous values remain valid, updated by the Broad National Consumer Price Index (IPCA), or by another that replaces it, in the accumulated period.

In addition to the periodic review, the legislation before the edition of the Provisional Measure, in May of this year, provided for the readjustment of the table when there was an oscillation greater than 10%, also for more or less, in relation to the price considered in the ANTT calculation spreadsheet .

However, in the evaluation of the federal government, it is necessary to establish new periodicity parameters for updating the minimum freight floor table. That’s because the current model has not been enough to placate the increases in international oil prices, he considers.

Thus, the Executive wants there to be a new rule on the minimum floors for road freight whenever the price of diesel exceeds 5% more or less in relation to the value considered in the current table prepared by ANTT.

When edited, an MP has the force of law, but it needs to be approved by the House and Senate so that it does not lose its validity. In this case, the deadline is September 26 this year. The matter now goes to the Senate for analysis.
