A man has been arrested in China for trying to smuggle more than 100 live snakes into the country in his trouser pockets, authorities said. “During an inspection, customs officials found six bags (…) sealed with adhesive tape in the pockets of the man’s pants,” Chinese customs officials said yesterday, without specifying when the incident occurred. “Each sack contained live snakes of all kinds, sizes and colors,” they said. Customs officers seized 104 reptiles of five species, including Texas snakes, a Customs press release said. A video of the seizure shows two customs officers examining clear plastic bags, in which red and white snakes move. The person in question was “recently” arrested at a border crossing between mainland China and the semi-autonomous territory of Hong Kong.
