Day January 27th is celebrated the chocolate cake day . There is no record of where this date came from, but as it has been with us since childhood and is practically synonymous with welcoming, we thought it worthwhile to make a list of 7 places to eat incredible chocolate cakes in Sao Paulo .

of the award-winning Helena Rizzo , Padoca do Maní was imagined as an interior house with the smell of a cake baking in the oven. And there is no shortage of options for these delicacies to liven up your afternoon. The suggestion is for “The secret of the cake”, which is that sweet with a taste of childhood, irresistible. A hearty slice of chocolate cake with creamy brigadeiro filling and topping (R$27 just for the cake at Padoca do Mani) or at Manioca which is served with Ninho milk ice cream (R$42).

the chef Flavio Miyamura , who runs the restaurant and wine bar Miya, in Pinheiros, offers a warm chocolate cake with creamy brigadeiro and cardamom crème anglaise (R$38) that is a total killer. Order a glass of dessert wine to go with it and be very happy!

Dengo Factory

Fábrica de Dengo is a true paradise for those who love chocolate. In the middle of Av. Brigadeiro Faria Lima, the Brazilian brand that works with small and medium-sized cocoa producers in southern Bahia, has a space that includes a restaurant, café, ice cream parlor and Dengo’s concept store.

Right on the ground floor, the visitor is welcomed by the café from which unmissable sweets come out, such as the Dengo cake stuffed in layers with different chocolate ganaches and cocoa nibs (R$ 22 a slice).

Carole Cream

Carole is one of the main names in confectionery in São Paulo. With 20 years of success, its sweets have already been present at the most popular weddings and parties in the city. As for cakes, despite the iced coconut cake, wrapped in aluminum foil – one of those used at parties in the old days, being the great success of the house (there are more than 10,000 units sold per month), it offers two chocolate cakes that are incredible and also deserve mention.

The praline brigadeiro cake, which has a wet chocolate dough and a crunchy brigadeiro filling topped with praline (R$21.90 a slice; R$81 for the 600gr cake; and R$230 for the 2kg cake) and the new chocolate cake from the fine line.

Made with 64% Callebaut chocolate, it is filled with 2 layers of chocolate ganache, covered in chocolate and milk chocolate shavings (R$99 for the 600gr and R$269 for the 2.2kg). Melts in your mouth!

the chef Renata Vanzetto at the head of Grupo Eme, formed by the restaurants Ema, MeGusta, Muquifo, Matilda, Mé and Mi.Ado, and the youngest of the group, the little monkey, is responsible for a chocolate cake that always yields good photos of the best style foodporn.

Only served at Ema, the chef’s signature kitchen, the chocolate cake with warm brigadeiro and caramel ice cream with fleur de sel (R$40) is one of those desserts that always makes you want to order another one. Luck: it’s also available on delivery.

The small and friendly bakery in the Pinheiros market has a showcase that makes the eyes of lovers of a good sweet shine. The highlight there is the Bolo de Cacau, a sponge cake with 50% Callebaut chocolate ganache, flavored with organic coffee roasted on a wood stove, and the layers are soaked in amarula syrup.

The filling options can be, in addition to chocolate ganache, orange peel compote, cupuaçu, red fruits and prestige. (BRL 26 a slice or BRL$ 320 with 3kg).

Shop & Cafe Mariana Junqueira

Known for her creativity and champion of the panettone tasting by CNN Viagem&Gastronomia in the category with creamy filling, Mariana Junqueira is considered the cake designer of the stars.

It has on its order menu, a chocolate cake made with fluffy chocolate sponge cake dough, filled with milk chocolate brigadeiro and Belgian split frosting, decorated with the brand’s famous Belgian brigadeiros. only on order is available in 1Kg (R$538), 1.5Kg (R$638), 3Kg (R$893) and 5Kg (R$1,290) options.
