Chris Martin lead singer of Coldplay , dedicated a song for the singer Taylor Swift during the band’s show in Düsseldorf, Germany, on Saturday (20). The performance is part of the “Music of the Spheres” tour.
Before singing “Everglow” from the album “A Head Full of Dreams”, the British singer stated that the song would be played in tribute to the American who had just left the region. The voice of “Fortnight” and “Blank Space” played three shows in the city of Gelsenkirchen, which is about 50 minutes away from Düsseldorf, last week.
“This is for Taylor Swift because she left town. This is for all of you who are sad today because she had to go to the next city. We sing this song and send love to Taylor wherever she is,” Chris said.
Taylor Swift’s visit to Gelsenkirchen was so significant that the city’s mayor accepted a fan’s suggestion to temporarily change the name of the city, which became Swiftkirchen during the singer’s stay there. The American singer will also perform in Hamburg and Munich this week before heading to Poland, Austria and the United Kingdom, where she will close the European leg of “The Eras Tour”.
Coldplay, in turn, performed again in Düsseldorf on Sunday (21) and will sing there again on Tuesday (23). The band will also visit countries such as Finland, Ireland and Australia before the end of the “Music of the Spheres” tour, which began in 2022 and featured 13 shows in Brazil.
