It is nothing new for De Sica to be a juror in a Rai broadcast. «For four years I participated in Such and Which Show», he tells us, «I was a bit naughty, here it’s different: I’ll have to be a detective together with some friends. I’m going to have a lot of fun, I’m sure of it, we’re a good bunch. Of course, if there’s something I don’t like, I’ll say it: I’m someone who can’t help himself».
Music is an integral part of De Sica’s career. «I’m a comedian for the cinema, but I sing as soon as I can in the theatre, perhaps it’s the thing I do best». «Rome doesn’t play stupid this evening it’s one of my favorite songs», he confesses, «I sang it with Sabrina Ferilli and also with Renato Zero. And then I love American music from the 40s and 50s, so Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett And Billie Holiday».
De Sica has been for years, together with Boldi, the architect of the so-called phenomenon of cinepanettone, it has now set. «I do not miss itI’m working on comedies that are equally funny, like Christmas at all costs (on Netflix) with Angela Finocchiaro who had a great success», he comments. The actor, who at the end of April will shoot the new film by Paolo Virzì with Sabrina Ferillihowever he prefers the era of cinepanettoni to that stream.
“L’it was the cinepanettone was fantastic because when you entered the theaters you could hear the amused roars of the audience», De Sica tells us, «you immediately savored the response to the film. With the era of platforms they tell you if you liked a film or a series or not, but it is not the same thing as being booed or applauded live».
