We are fickle fans. As soon as a trend explodes, we ask ourselves… what’s next? The nails glazed donut they undeniably dominated 2022, but ahead of the new season, springtime chrome is taking the aesthetic in a new direction.
Nudes and pale pinks remain classics, but thanks to the spring remix we’re starting to see our favorite pastels reemerge, albeit updated with everyone’s favorite chrome top coat.
Pretty shades of lilac, baby blue, pistachio green and frosted lemon with spring are back, but the new high-gloss finish helps keep them fresh.
One example is Mel from @overglowedit who invented the «springtime chrome» movement. He uploaded a photo of a dreamy sky blue manicure finished with a shiny metallic topper and the success was instantaneous. Followers’ comments were enthusiastic. “OMG they are so perfect 😍😍😍😍,” wrote one user. “Ok, saving that for my next nail apt😍,” wrote another.
But before Mel even gave it a name, various chrome crayons in a whole range of shades started popping up on our social networks. Earlier this month, Zola Ganzorigt, the nail artist who created the iconic manicure glazed donut by Hailey Bieber, created a brighter frosted lemon version for the model to anticipate the arrival of the sun and celebrate the atmosphere of the new season.

Another favorite of ours is Polished by Lauren’s pistachio creation, which references another big spring trend: green nails.
