Bringing a new concept to the capital of São Paulo, the sumptuous Cidade Matarazzo complex, brings together art, culture, diversity, lifestyle and is a reference and symbol of preservation with historical elements.ics and contemporary interventions.
The project arose from the idealization of businessman Alex Allard who, in 2007, acquired the Umberto I Hospital, popularly known as Matarazzo Hospital, and Condessa Filomena Matarazzo Maternity, built in 1904 and 1943 respectively and abandoned in 1993, after the hospital was deactivated.
With the acquisition and restoration of the century-old complex, the venture located one block from Avenida Paulista, has ten listed buildings on a plot of 30,000 mtwo🇧🇷
🇧🇷It all has a purpose.”, says Allard. “The goal is for the most important people in Brazil to become aware of the importance (of preservation)”, he adds.
Due to its large size, the complex is being delivered in phases. The first of these was delivered with the inauguration of the Rosewood São Paulo hotel, considered the most luxurious in Latin America.
With deep respect for the memory of the place, the project will also feature three contemporary architectural interventions built in dialogue with historic buildings.
The second step of the project is more ambitious. Designed by the French architect Jean Nouvel, the Aya Hub will be a building fully integrated with nature, which intends to accelerate the idea of transforming Brazil into the largest green economy on the planet.

The space also has a chapel built a century ago, gastronomy points and the House of Creativity, with 19 areas dedicated to culture, to show how the culture of diversity and biodiversity is also valuable.
To get a project of this size off the ground, having financial partners is essential.
