Cillian Murphy on “Peaky Blinders” spin-off film: “I’m open to the idea”

Cillian Murphy gave the green light to a possible film in the universe of “Peaky Blinders “. During a conversation with Margot Robbie in Variety’s “Actors on Actos” section, he said he was open to the idea of ​​reviving the iconic character Thomas Shelby.

“I’m open to the idea. I always thought there was more story to tell. Who knows?” she stated.

“I’m open to the idea, even though I think six seasons have been almost perfect. Sometimes it’s difficult to switch to a film format, but I like the ambiguity of the ending. And I’m always open to good scripts,” he added.

“Peaky Blinders” premiered in 2012 and came to an end in 2022 after six seasons. The series is available on Netflix.

Murphy and Robbie also talked about their big debuts this year: “Oppenheimer” and “Barbie”. The duo took social media and movie theaters by storm when they were released on the same day and generated a certain amount of dispute among fans.

The actress revealed that a producer of the film directed by Christopher Nolan asked “Barbie” to change the release date.

“One of the producers [de Oppenheimer]Chuck Roven, called me and said, ‘I think you should change the date [de estreia]’. And I said, ‘We’re not changing our date. If you’re scared to face us, then change your date,’” she said.

The box office of “Barbie” became the biggest in 2023 and has already exceeded US$ 1.4 billion (approximately R$ 6.9 billion), and “Oppenheimer”, more than US$ 953 million (almost R$ 4.7 billion ).
