In Rio Grande do Sul, “Cities in Motion” follows women who have achieved leadership positions in agribusiness; while in Santa Catarina, young people have found new career prospects and entire families have grown because of their jobs at the company; in Pará, sustainable and conscious production has gained prominence; and in Goiás, technological advances in the agricultural sector have shown how innovation can transform rural production.
In Minas Gerais, the stories of characters who work directly with feeding people at one of the largest food companies in the world will be presented; in Mato Grosso, a family opened the doors of their home to talk about the dreams they achieved through working at JBS and how much the city grew with the arrival of the company; in the interior of São Paulo, a small city became the employer hub for the entire region.
Premiere episode
The first episode takes viewers to Rolândia, a city of 71,670 inhabitants in Paraná, which has undergone a significant transformation since the arrival of JBS in 2014.
The company generates more than 6,000 direct jobs in the municipality and 14,000 throughout the state, contributing significantly to local economic development. To give you an idea, JBS generates 1.61% of Paraná’s GDP, according to data from Fipe.
In recent years, the company has invested R$1.85 billion in the municipality, including the construction of the most automated breaded food factory in the world and the most modern hatchery in Brazil.
Marcelo Schiavo is a transportation supervisor and plays an essential role in the incubation and transportation process of eggs and chicks, contributing to the success of local production. In the episode, he highlights the improvements in the city since the arrival of JBS, including the growth of infrastructure such as pharmacies and markets.
The Rolândia plant works with 298 integrated producers and 609 poultry farms, directly impacting 64 municipalities in the region. Edmar Frehner, one of these producers, began his career in the 1990s and today has 130,000 birds on his property in Apucarana. Edmar appears in the premiere episode and tells how he was recognized as Best Producer of the Year in 2019 by the SuperAgro award, promoted by JBS.
