Civil Defense warns of storms in North and Northeast states

The National Civil Defense warned, this Friday (4), for the forecast of storms in 11 states in the North and Northeast of the country between Friday and Saturday (5).

The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) highlighted that the states that may be the most affected are: Amapá, Pará, Tocantins, Ceará, Maranhão, Piauí, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Sergipe and Bahia.

Also according to the Institute, the accumulated rainfall can reach 100 millimeters per day, and the winds can reach 100 km/h. There is a risk of power cuts, flooding and falling trees.

The National Civil Defense emphasizes that the population must adopt self-protection measures, such as turning off electrical appliances and the general energy board. In a confirmed situation of great danger, the ideal is to seek shelter and avoid staying outdoors.

In cases of gusts of wind, it is recommended that people do not take shelter under trees.
