Mike moved to Taiwan when he was 22 years old and enrolled in Tamkang University, as his dream was to study Global Politics and International Trade, but everything changed when his cousin passed away. Upon hearing the news, Mike left his career to dedicate himself to designing and creating special backpacks with the ability to charge with solar energy and function as a kind of light bulb and electric charger for cell phones. His invention, which he called Solo Bag, has an outdoor solar panel, built-in battery, USB port, an LED lamp and even a GPS system to know the location of the boys who use the backpack.

Mike wanted his invention to be easy to use so people wouldn’t need a manual to know how it works. They just have to turn it on and off. Also, it charges itself, because the boy wanted it to be extremely self-sufficient.
To charge the battery of the backpack you only need to expose it to the sun for an hour. In this way, up to six hours of light can be obtained and the children will not have to use candles to study or read. This is a noble and ingenious action that deserves to be applauded.
