CNA proposes to increase rural credits to R$ 22 billion by 2023

The National Confederation of Agriculture (CNA) presented to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa) ten proposals to assist rural producers by 2023.

These suggestions are for the construction of the agricultural and livestock plan, which guarantees public policies for development in the sector in Brazil. Among the proposals are the request for R$ 2 billion for rural insurance next year and that interest rates for rural credit operations remain below double digits.

The document also suggests the release of almost R $ 22 billion for these agricultural loans – 67% more than what is available in the previous plan.

In an interview with CNN, the technical director of the CNA, Bruno Lucchi, explained the importance of putting the proposals into practice.

“This resource has a gain that transcends Brazilian agriculture. It increases Brazil’s GDP, it increases jobs, exports… it brings benefits beyond agriculture, it is a resource that returns to society,” he said.
