The atypical cold front for the month of November will prevail in part of Brazil until the end of the week, according to meteorologists. The states of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Paraná may have frost starting this Wednesday (2).
The sudden drop in temperatures, which began this Tuesday (1st), occurs due to the passage of a cold front followed by a strong mass of polar air. The phenomenon affects the South, Southeast and North regions of the country.
Early this Wednesday morning, the cold air mass will also reach the states of Rondônia, Acre and Amazonas.
According to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), frost is expected to form in areas of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Paraná.
“The intense and atypical cold air mass should act in Brazil until the end of this week, with the possibility of negative temperatures and frosts until Thursday (3), mainly in the highest areas of the South Region”, said Inmet.

According to the Institute, the wave of intense cold remains until Friday (4). In the south of the country, this Wednesday can register negative temperatures in some regions.
According to Climatempo, in São Paulo, the temperature can drop to 10°C. “The last time the 10th digit of temperature was observed in November was in 2011”, highlighted Climatempo.
Porto Alegre may register 9°C, which has not occurred in November since 2016. Curitiba may have up to 6°C this week, and the last time the capital of Paraná had this temperature was in November, in 1979.
