Coldplay and BTS will be together for the first time on stage during AMA’s

The American Music Awards takes to the stage next Sunday (21) one of the most talked about partnerships of the year, between the British band Coldplay and the South Korean group BTS. For the first time, the two bands will perform together a live performance of the song “My Universe”, released in late September and which has already received more than 110 million views on YouTube.

There will be 11 artists presenting the song that already in its debut was ranked 1st on the Billboard list. A few days after the release, the groups released the mini documentary Coldplay X BTS Inside ‘My Universe’ Documentary, with behind-the-scenes production of the video and testimonials from the musicians about the partnership.

The track is part of Coldplay’s new album, “Music of the Spheres”, released on October 15th. The announcement of the bands’ performance at AMA’s 2021 was the third most talked about topic in Brazil on Twitter this Wednesday (17th).

The 49th edition of the American Music Awards takes place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and will be conducted by singer Cardi B, who hosts this year. Other attractions at the event include Tyler, The Creator, Olivia Rodrigo, Bad Bunny, Tainy, Julieta Venegas, Carrie Underwood with Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, New Edition, New Kids on the Block, Diplo, Zoe Wees, Måneskin, Walker Hayes and Mickey Guyton.

In addition to the long-awaited performance with Coldplay, the South Koreans from BTS will have an intense participation in this edition of AMA’s. During the event, the band will also perform the song “Butter” with rapper Meghan Thee Stallion, and will compete for the award in the Artist of the Year, Duo/Favorite Group and Favorite Pop Song categories, with Butter. Since the group’s formation in 2013, the South Koreans have taken home six AMA’s trophies. Last year, the victory was in the Duo/Favorite group and Favorite Artist on Social Media categories.
