Complaints involving actor Armie Hammer should not result in legal charges

The investigation into allegations of sexual violence involving the American actor Armie Hammer was closed this week. According to sources heard by the American website TMZ, the actor known here for the films “Call Me by Your Name” and “A Rede Social” should not face charges in court. The results of the investigation were forwarded by the Police Department to the Los Angeles Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Since January, the 35-year-old actor has been making international headlines related to reports of physical and sexual aggression, including passing through cannibalism fetishes. In virtual conversations released at the time, Hammer would have referred to himself as “100% cannibal”. From this disclosure, other reports emerged showing that the actor would be involved in situations of abuse and rape.

In the same month, Armie Hammer’s ex-girlfriend Paige Lorenze reported to the British newspaper “Daily Mail” disturbing behaviors that the actor reportedly directed at her when they were together.

As Lorenze recounted, the actor would have forcibly cut her skin to record her initials and then licked the blood from the wound. With the scandals, Hammer was banned from projects such as the movie “Shotgun Wedding”, which he would shoot alongside Jennifer Lopez, the series “The Offer” and the movie “The Billion Dollar Spy”.

In March of this year, another woman filed a complaint against Hammer. In video, the girl named Effie reported that the actor raped her for more than four hours in April 2017, repeatedly banging her head against the wall.

According to Effie’s account, she would have sought justifications for Hammer’s behavior and initially failed to assimilate the seriousness of the facts. The actor denied the charges. At the time, his defense attorney, Andrew Bettler, came out that Effie had rebutted her own allegations for having sent Hammer sexually oriented text messages back in July 2020.

Since the scandals became public, the American actor has made a single public statement on the matter, claiming that he would not respond to allegations that he classified as “nonsense”, which were nothing more than “perverse and spurious virtual attacks” against him. In late May, Armie Hammer was admitted to a rehab clinic to treat addictions involving illicit drugs, alcohol and sex. Since January, their Twitter and Instagram accounts have not had new posts.
