The US administration is not hiding its concern over India’s intention to participate in military exercises organized by Russia, White House spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre said today.
Last month Moscow announced military exercises called Vostok (East) from August 30 to September 5 amid the war in Ukraine. According to the Chinese Ministry of Defense, troops from Russia, China, India, Belarus, Mongolia, Tajikistan and other countries are expected to take part in the drills.
Asked about Indian military involvement, Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters – who were accompanying President Biden on his trip to Pennsylvania – that the United States is concerned about any country participating in military exercises with Russia while the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
