A container ship, under the flag of Liberiawas attacked today while sailing off Yemen, British marine insurance company Ambrey announced.
This ship which is registered as operated by Israeli company ZIM Integrated Shipping Services, but may no longer belong to her because it is not listed in other open sources, Ambrey added. He had sailed from Singapore and headed to Djibouti. His name was not released.
The attack took place at a distance of approx 88 miles southeast of Aden, according to Ambrey who refers to information according to which “it was hit and gave off a distress signal”. It remains unclear, however, whether it was hit directly by a missile or whether it was damaged by nearby explosions.
