Coppola says “Megalopolis” is the best work he’s ever done; watch the trailer

About to launch a new project after 14 years, Francis Ford Coppola 85, the mind and eyes behind the trilogy “The Godfather” It is “Apocalypse Now” released in the early hours of this Tuesday (14) the trailer for “Megalopolis” .

“Our new film 'Megalopolis' is the best work I've had the privilege of leading,” he wrote in a social media post.

The film will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, which starts this Tuesday, and competes for the Palme d'Or. The first screening of the film is scheduled for Thursday (16).

The plot starring Adam Driver (“Marriage Stories” and “Ferrari”), Nathalie Emmanuel (“Fast and Furious” and “Game of Thrones”), Dustin Hoffman (“Kramer vs. Kramer” and “Rain Man”), Shia LaBeouf (“Transformers” and “Iron Hearts”) and Aubrey Plaza (“The White Lotus”) follows an architect who wants to rebuild New York City as a utopia after a devastating disaster.

The director revealed that the film is dedicated to his wife Eleanor Coppola , who died at the age of 87 on April 12th. They had been together for 61 years and are parents of Roman Coppola (writer and producer of several Wes Anderson films) and Sofia Coppola (“Encontros e Desencontros” and “Priscilla”).
