Coronavirus Pfizer Pill: British Green Light at Paxlovid – For Which Patients

According to official figures, the Pfizer pill, the Paxlovid, has the its greater effectiveness when taken in the early stages of the disease, announced the British Drug Regulatory Authority (MHRA), recommending the use of the drug within five days of the onset of symptoms.

Pfizer announced this month that Paxlovid has been shown to be 90% effective in the prevention of hospitalization and death of patients belonging to high-risk groups and recent laboratory data show that the drug retains its effectiveness against high transmissibility Omicron variant, as broadcast by ΑΠΕ-ΜΠΕ.

“We now have another antiviral drug to treat Covid-19 that can be taken orally rather than intravenously. “This means that it can be administered outside of a hospital setting,” the MHRA chief said in a statement.
