Robert Downey Jr. becomes Tony Stark and uses technology to solve environmental problems

There are characters so iconic that the actors who play them rise to the same level of fame, and the performances become so good that it becomes impossible to imagine someone else bringing those roles to life.

Such is the case with Tony Stark and Robert Downey Jr. Robert’s performance was so charismatic and touched so many people’s hearts that it is really difficult to think that there is another actor who would have done a job of that caliber.

It is not easy to imagine another Iron Man

And, apparently, the actor agrees with us! After the premiere of Avengers: Endgame, he was asked if he thought someone else could play the superhero. This was his answer:

I have thought about it before and the truth is that it will be very complicated for someone like me to do it. No, seriously, the only one I can think of who could do it magnificently is Al Pacino, something I don’t know if he wanted to do. But it would be interesting to ask.

Robert Downey Jr. and his interest in the environment

Robert said goodbye to Tony Stark a long time ago, but this does not mean that there is not a bit of the Marvel genius within Robert. You see, Iron Man is a superhero completely dedicated to science and the development of technologies that make the world a better place, safer for everyone.

And it turns out that Robert is very interested in green technologies, that is, more environmentally friendly. In fact, earlier this year, he made a heavy investment in a company start-up called Turntide Technologies.

A real life Iron Man?

Turntide Technologies is a Silicon Valley company dedicated to the remodeling and commercialization of electric motors and whose main source of financing is Bill Gates’ clean technology fund, Breakthrough Energy Ventures.

In addition, he has an organization called The Footprint Coalition, whose objective is the cleaning and bioremediation of the planet through innovative technologies such as robotics and nanotechnology.

Looking at all this, it is easy to see why there will be people who will start to see him as a real life Iron Man, but Robert assures that that is not what he wants.

Of course there are people who will see me like this because I am working on climate solutions based on new technologies, but I believe in a certain aesthetic distance. I am not Tony.
