According to the roadmap, two main directions for 2024:
- expansion: reducing the time required to fully implement IBC technology, reducing maintenance costs and enabling the formation of IBC connections with various blockchains;
- Usability: Improving and differentiating the developer experience for IBC users and creating more advanced protocol-based cross-chain workflows.
The developers reported that the main challenge facing the team is to serve more users, reduce the risk of bugs, and reduce code maintenance costs.
The team also said that over the past 12 months, IBC has facilitated 52 million transfers worth $29 billion across more than 100 networks.
