Covid-19 infections in Brazil drop 29.9% in one week

Contaminations by the coronavirus in Brazil fell by almost 30% in the 29th epidemiological week, which considers the days between July 17 and 23, compared to the previous period (July 10 and 16), according to data released by the National Council of Secretaries. of Health (Conass).

In the 29th week there were 291,267 infections by Covid-19, while in the 28th there were 415,765 cases – the reduction is 29.9%.

There was also a drop in the number of fatalities. According to Conass, there were 1,632 deaths from the disease in the last update compared to 1,741 in the count that ended on the 16th – a reduction of 6.2%.

In all, the country has recorded 33,621,965 cases of Covid-19 and 677,143 victims of the disease since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.

In the last 24 hours, states reported 179 deaths and 30,609 cases of Covid to Conass.

With this, the moving average of deaths, which considers the last seven days, was 242. The indicator of cases marks 40,307 this Monday (25).

These indices are used to monitor the indicators of the epidemiological situation in the country without possible distortions caused by underreporting on weekends.
