At least three people were killed and 11 others injured when a passenger train collided with a freight train on the central Croatian.
As APE-MPE reports, the accident occurred near the town of Nowska, about 100 kilometers southeast of Zagreb. Based on the available information, three people died and 11 others were injured and are hospitalized, as Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic announced to journalists today.
Among the injured are also foreigners. No one has life-threatening injuries, he clarified.
A Red Cross official told state news agency HINA that the injured foreigners are a total of eight and that in all probability they are irregular immigrants. A hospital in Nova Gradiska, near the crash site, said it was treating the five members of an Iranian family.
So far, the causes of the accident remain unknown. Plenkovic said the passenger train, which was running a local route, collided with the stopped freight train.
