The former partner and mother of Paulo Cupertino’s daughter, Vanessa Tibcherani Matias Camargo, said during testimony this Thursday (10), at the Barra Funda Criminal Forum, that she “drank a lot to forget” everything that happened.
Cupertino is accused of killing former Chiquititas actor Rafael Miguel, along with his parents, João Alcisio and Miriam Selma, in June 2019, in the Pedreira neighborhood, in the south zone of São Paulo.
After the statement, Cupertino’s defense questioned whether she had been drinking this Thursday (10), to try to disqualify her. Vanessa replied no.
There was then a 20-minute break following the trial.
The Cupertino popular jury began this Thursday afternoon (10) and should continue until Friday (11).
Still during the jury, Vanessa stated that Cupertino is “mythomaniac” and avoided saying his name, calling him “defendant”. She also confirmed the father’s abusive relationship with his daughter .
In addition to Paulo Cupertino Matias, the jury will define the future of two other people, accused of personal favoritism, for helping Cupertino escape and hide after the crimes.
Eduardo Jose Machado, Eduardo da Pizzaria, is 45 years old, and Wanderley Antunes Ribeiro Senhora, 59. Both are free.
About the crime
The crime took place on June 9, 2019. Cupertino managed to escape the authorities for three years, only being captured in May 2022 in an apartment in the south of São Paulo, after going through around 100 addresses in at least three countries – Brazil , Paraguay and Argentina.
According to the complaint from the Public Ministry of São Paulo, Cupertino maintained a possession relationship with his daughter, Isabela Tibecherani Matias and did not accept that the young woman had a relationship with the former actor from the children’s soap opera.
