A 39-year-old British woman, who developed a thrombosis, died at the General Hospital of Nicosia, in Cyprus.
Her death was announced by the spokesperson of the Cyprus State Services Organization, Charalambos Charilaou, adding that her death certificate has already been issued.
The 39-year-old was vaccinated in early May in Paphos with AstraZeneca preparation and days later she suffered a thromboembolic event, with the Pharmaceutical Services investigating whether it is related to her vaccination, as broadcast by AMPE.
She was initially hospitalized in Paphos, but due to the seriousness of her condition it was deemed necessary to transfer her to Nicosia General Hospital.
As the Deputy Director of Pharmaceutical Services of the Ministry of Health of Cyprus, Elena Panagiotopoulou, told RIK, the process from now on provides sending the history of the deceased to the European Medicines Agency, who will respond to the relevant findings.
