Cyprus: New increase in coronavirus cases with a high positivity index

At 7,263 are the new cases of Covid-19 disease announced for the week 17-23 June 2022, the Ministry of Health of Cyprus.

According to a relevant announcement, a total of 74,362 diagnostic tests were performed. 7,263 new cases were identified (total of 504,717 cases). The percentage of positivity in all exams is 9.77%.

4,111 molecular tests were performed, which resulted in 572 positive cases with a positivity rate of 13.91%. Also, 70,251 rapid antigen detection tests were performed, which resulted in 6,691 positive cases, with a positivity rate of 9.52%.

In addition, 2 deaths were announced, concerning a woman, aged 89, who died on June 19 and a man, aged 37, who died on 03/08/2021.

In particular, according to the data:

Total number of final causes of COVID-19 disease: 1,072.

– 47 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in OKYPY hospitals

– 4 in serious condition (ICU: 0 out of ventilator / 1 intubated, MAF: 3)

– 2 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be treated intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.
