Cyprus: New tragedy in the National Guard – Dead 27-year-old contract hoplite

A 27-year-old contracted hoplite, who was seriously injured as part of a planned educational activity last Monday, passed away this afternoon in the Intensive Care Unit of the Nicosia General Hospital where he was being treated.

The unfortunate Panagiotis Giannios was injured when he jumped from a helicopter into the sea.
