Hanka Horka, singer of the Czech group Asonance, died last Sunday (16), at the age of 57, of complications related to Covid-19. She was against vaccination and decided to purposely contaminate herself in order to obtain her vaccination passport.
In the Czech Republic, in addition to people with a complete vaccination schedule, those who have recovered from Covid-19 are also entitled to proof.
The information was shared by his son, Jan Rek, in an interview with Czech public radio IRozhlas. Rek said he and his father, fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, were infected late last year.
“Instead of isolating herself from the two of us, she wanted to stay at home normally and decided that she would rather catch the disease than get vaccinated. His first PCR test came back negative, but days later the second came back positive,” Rek told the radio. “She trusted strangers more than her own family.”
Last Friday (14), Horka wrote on social media about his contamination in an animated way. “I am contaminated with the Delta variant, but everything is fine. I will have a social life, with theater, sauna, cinema and beach”.
According to her son, two days later, she began to feel unwell and left the house for a walk. Upon returning, she complained of severe back pain and decided to lie down. “She died of asphyxiation in her bed a few minutes later,” describes Rek.
The singer’s son blames the country’s anti-vaccination movements and personalities for his mother’s death, saying he “knows exactly who was behind the idea”. Rek says he tried to convince Hanka for a long time to get vaccinated, but always in vain.
