Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias represented Greece at the OSCE Ministerial Council in Stockholm, attended by 57 foreign ministers, the first physical presence since the pandemic began.
During his speech at the 28th OSCE Ministerial Council, Nikos Dendias developed the firm Greek positions, ie the need for peace, security and stability. Also, as he states in a statement after the meeting, he had the opportunity to analyze the Greek example in the Eastern Mediterranean, how Greece acts in accordance with International Law, International Maritime Law and the principles of the United Nations Charter as strength of stability and security in the region.
Beyond that, the Foreign Minister points out, it was also an opportunity for a very long series of bilateral contacts. “First, in order to promote the Greek candidacy for the United Nations Security Council in the period 2025-2026, but also to have an understanding of regional issues concerning and of interest to Greece. Among them, Armenia and Azerbaijan, where I met with The Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan, in order to have a clear understanding of what is happening in Afghanistan, beyond the promotion and economic relations (Greece-Kazakhstan), and beyond, with the Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, “A country that is developing into a problematic situation in the Balkans.
