A new solution is available for Samsung users to store payment cards and other types of documents in digital format. It is the South Korean multinational company, in fact, ad to announce the release of Samsung Wallet: the platform that allows owners of a Galaxy device to organize digital keys, boarding passes, credit cards and gift cards within a single app installed on their smartphone.
Equipped with an interface optimized to allow quick and easy access to archived documents, the wallet also acts as password manager to allow the user to access apps and services faster. In addition, it can store digital home keys for open and close the front doorfor example, or – only with selected BMW models – also of lock, unlock and start cars. And of course, security hasn’t been put aside: the new digital wallet is, in fact, protected by technology Samsung Knox which protects access by exploiting the fingerprint recognition and the data encryption in addition to storing data in an isolated environment, the Secure Elementwhich offers a further protection from digital and physical attacks.
On the subject, it is the N26 bank website that explains and suggests: “In general, digital wallets are very secure: they are stored inside your smartphone, protected by a general password, and making payments is only possible by verifying your fingerprint. Additionally, several digital wallets take advantage of additional security protocols, such as two-factor authentication. In any case, avoid sharing your data personal, always keep under control your account and make sure you lock your smartphone in case of theft or loss ».
And it is therefore no coincidence that many prefer electronic forms of payment, including e-wallets. In fact, according to some analyzes, banknotes are less and less used: it is one study led by FIS to tell us that payments made via digital wallets would surpassed those in cash globally. The latter, in fact, showed a decrease of 10% in 2020 and in some countries – such as the United Kingdom, Canada, Sweden and Australia – they would even have halved.
However, Samsung Wallet would not be the only solution to store payment cards, fidelity cards and travel bookings since, for some time, Apple has also made the app available as standard in iOS. Wallet and in the stores for iOS and Android you can download some free or paid alternatives.
