Disney announces launch of 6th ship in its fleet and new island in the Bahamas

A new giant of the seas will be launched in the waters in 2024: last week, the disney announced the inauguration of the sixth ship in its fleet, the Disney Treasure which will have the main hall inspired by “Aladdin” .

According to the company, the unprecedented ship will be entirely decorated by the adventure theme inspiration coming from Walt Disney’s love for new discoveries.

“Inspired by the grandeur and mystery of a gilded palace, the Grand Hall draws on real-world influences from Asia and Africa and pays homage to the distant land of Agrabah from the tale of Aladdin,” the company shared.

A statue of the character alongside Jasmine and the Magic Carpet will be displayed in the main atrium – a tradition on Disney ships.

Disney Treasure is the second of three vessels planned by the company until 2025. This year, the Disney Wish made his first trips with passengers through the caribbean in the month of July.

Like Disney Wish, Disney Treasure is expected to have around 1,254 staterooms.

What’s New in the Bahamas

In addition to the unprecedented vessel, other novelties were announced during the D23 Expo 2022 the official event of The Walt Disney Company, held at the convention center in front of the Disney parks in California, which also featured lectures, the presence of artists and panels.

Among them, details about Disney’s second island destination in Bahamas: O Lighthouse Point located at island of Eleuthera was chosen as the company’s new stopping point.

In addition to white-sand beaches and turquoise waters, there are entertainment centers, shopping, dining and a water playground, as well as a cultural pavilion dedicated to local stories and traditions.

“It will be a vibrant beach retreat with the color and energy of the Bahamas,” Disney said in a statement.

The company also stated that 90% of the energy will be solar and that it will employ sustainable construction practices.

Cruises in Australia and New Zealand

The company’s first trips from Australia and gives New Zealand were also announced.

From October 2023 to February 2024, the ship disney wonder will depart from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, Australia, as well as Auckland, New Zealand, as part of a series of itineraries dubbed “Disney Magic at Sea”.

Cruises are “to nowhere” and the ship is destiny itself – onboard programming will immerse guests in the worlds of Pixar, gives Marvel it’s from Star Wars .

Repositioning voyages between Honolulu, Hawaii, and Sydney, Australia, will still fiji and Samoa , island destinations in the South Pacific. Reservations open on the 6th of October.
