Doctor Gabriel Paschoal Rossi, 29, found dead in Dourados (MS) with his hands and feet tied, on Monday (7), was part of a group of embezzlers and was killed for collecting a debt of R$ 500,000 to the gang.
The information was released by Civil police of Mato Grosso do Sul at a press conference this Tuesday (8).
The debt collection would have been made to the main suspect in the death, a woman identified by the police only as Bruna. She will still be heard by investigators.
“She owed him [o médico]and, apparently, he started to charge, saying that he would deliver the group [de golpes à polícia]because he knew how it worked (…) It is believed that she owed something around R$ 500,000”.
For the police, Paschoal Rossi participated in embezzlement scams even before he graduated in medicine. “His participation was top notch. There was a card fraud scheme that he lent documents and received through these virtual cards. He lent the documentation, went to Caixa Econômica to make the withdrawal and passed the money to the gang”, said the police.
However, the investigators work with the hypothesis that the doctor did not know about the gang itself and that he only kept in touch with Bruna.
The woman would have invested R$150 in payments to the executors, tickets and expenses, according to the investigation. During the crime, Bruna would not have gone to the murder site, but just coordinated the action.
After the execution, the woman took the victim’s cell phone, read the messages and applied blows to his friends, in addition to having emptied one of the bank accounts she managed to access through the device.

The police have already ruled out the involvement of other members of the gang of embezzlers in the doctor’s murder. About the men who executed the doctor, arrested on Monday, the police said they were hired especially to carry out the crime.
“In Minas Gerais there is no information about their participation in other crimes, they came to execute Gabriel”. The information will be sent to the Civil Police of Minas Gerais.
In the house where the body was found, the agents also found torture and shock devices, a box with the name of the suspect that she would have forgotten. “Torture was when asphyxiation and perforation were done.”

On Monday morning (7), the Civil Police of Mato Grosso do Sul arrested four suspects in the murder of 29-year-old doctor Gabriel Paschoal Rossi. The arrests took place in Pará de Minas (MG), with the support of the Federal Highway Police (PRF) and the Civil Police of Minas Gerais.

The doctor was found lying with his feet and hands tied, already in a state of decomposition, wearing a hospital gown with his name on it, in a house used for rent.
Investigators arrived at the body after a neighbor called the Military Police because of the smell of decomposition.
She also told the police that Gabriel’s car had been parked in front of the house for days. According to the Civil Police, the doctor would have been dead for more than four days.
