A Doctors Without Borders clinic in Gaza City was attacked on Monday during violent street fighting, the medical charity said.
The organization wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that “our colleagues saw that a wall was torn down and part of the building was engulfed in fire, while intense fighting was taking place around it.”
“An Israeli tank was seen in the street,” he added.
In #Gaza City, our clinic came under fire this morning. Our colleagues saw that a wall was collapsed and part of the building was engulfed by fire, as heavy fighting took place all around it. An Israeli tank was seen in the street.

A CNN reached out to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Hamas for comment.
An MSF staff member and 20 relatives are currently “in extreme danger” inside the clinic, their status unknown, the organization said.
“More than 50 other people, including MSF professionals, are in nearby buildings, and one injured person needs medical attention,” he added.
Additionally, five MSF cars that were used in a failed mission on Saturday (18) to evacuate staff and family members were destroyed in Monday’s exchange of fire, the group said.
“Four MSF cars caught fire. A fifth car, parked across the street, was broken into two pieces, as if it had been crushed by a heavy vehicle or tank. All cars and the clinic were clearly marked with the MSF logo.”
On Saturday, a relative of an MSF team member was killed when a convoy was attacked on the way back to Gaza City after a failed attempt to evacuate south, the organization said.
MSF said on Saturday that both Hamas and the Israeli army had been informed of the evacuation route. The convoy of 137 people, including 65 children, was forced to turn back at the last Israeli checkpoint near Wadi Gaza when gunshots were heard nearby.
“On the way back, between 3:30 pm and 4 pm local time, the convoy was attacked on Al-Wehda Street, near the intersection of Said Al-A’as Street, close to the MSF office,” the group said on Saturday.
“Two of the MSF cars were deliberately hit, killing one family member of an MSF team and injuring another.”
On Monday, MSF said the cars, now destroyed, were the only way to evacuate its staff and their families.
