Today, August 26, the developers from Konami presented the first gameplay trailer for their new football simulator eFootball, along the way, talking about the key features of the project. As expected, the developers focused on the realism and physics of movement – thanks to this, the control of the ball from the side of the virtual athlete looks almost the same as in the real world. There have also been deceptive maneuvers that allow you to trick the defense of the opposing team to move closer to the goal – Konami said that this mechanic will turn an ordinary match into a real intellectual game.
On the other hand, the opponent’s defenders have the opportunity to resist this – the athlete can intercept the ball during the pass, creating a lot of chances for a counterattack. Accordingly, there will be more situations with a sharp change in the sides of attack and defense. In addition, the mechanics of pressure in eFootball have received special attention, as, according to the publisher, the most important part of the sport. Now the defenders will grab the T-shirt with their hands, push the attacker away, interfere with the body in every possible way, and aggressively defend themselves. It really looks pretty good, especially against the background of the competitor’s “sterile” in terms of pressure.
They also worked on the mechanics of blows – the player himself will choose the force of the blow and pass, the speed of running, he will be able to apply new Sharp Kicks with unique animation and more. The game will also feature a new one-on-one dueling mechanic – this mechanic works with the new Motion Matching camera, which brings the frame closer to the players at the time of the competition. This makes it possible to more cunningly bypass the enemy in defense or interrupt the team’s attack by intercepting the match. However, it is not entirely clear how the game determines when to zoom in on the camera.
Special attention was paid to artificial intelligence during the video – now it can be configured. The fact is that the strategy for the game is a fundamental element, and now in eFootball, the strategy can be assigned. Based on the settings, the AI will lead the team players in the right direction – to attack, if required, or to keep in defense, if the gamer has taken a defensive position. And the owners of the PlayStation 5 were given an additional gift – on the branded gamepad, adaptive triggers will give a deeper immersion in virtual sports.
