Elections in Turkey: Erdogan maintains lead with 40% counted

THE Recep Tayyip Erdogan leads with a percentage of 52.70% with 40.04% of them counted votes. The main rival of the Turkish president and candidate of six opposition parties, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, receives 41.39%. The third candidate Sinan Ogan gathers 5.36% and Muharrem Ince 0.55%.

In the counted 40.04% of the votes, Istanbul and the other large urban centers of Turkey are gradually integrated and the percentage of the opposition candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu is strengthened.

Imamoglu: “Kilicdaroglu will be the winner of the presidential elections”

The mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem Imamoglu, who was elected with the CHP, said that Kemal Kilicdaroglu will be the new president of Turkey tonight.

He also called on Turkish citizens not to trust the results broadcast by the state-run Anadolu Agency.

Kilicdaroglu on Twitter: “We are ahead”

It may be that the results broadcast by the state networks in Turkey so far put Recep Tayyip Erdogan in front, but Kemal Kilicdaroglu in his post a while ago on Twitter claimed:

“We’re ahead.”
