Eletrobras and the light bill tortoises; How far does the market go?

The Federal Audit Court (TCU) approved on Wednesday (18), by majority, the continuity of Eletrobras’ capitalization process. There were 7 votes in favor and one against, by Minister Vital do Rêgo.

With the capitalization, the Union will no longer control most of the state-owned company’s share capital, going to hold 72% to 45% of the company’s shares.

Despite the advance of capitalization with the approval by the TCU, there may still be a judicialization of the process, which would hinder the government’s plans to finalize the procedure as soon as possible, taking into account the calendar of the election year.

Abroad, the highlight was the collapse of the global stock market on Wednesday (18), with the S&P and Nasdaq melting and recording the biggest drops in two years.

Presented by Thais Herédia and Priscila Yasbek, the CNN Money presents a balance of news issues that influence markets, finances and the direction of society and the dynamics of power in Brazil and in the world.
