Ellen DeGeneres announced the end of her show. One of the most successful women in the entertainment industry in America has confirmed that the nineteenth season of her famous show will be her last. The decision comes after years of planning.
During an episode of the morning show Today, the famous host discussed the news, which she announced yesterday in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, ensuring that she is relieved to have been able to inform, first of all, the staff and production of her legendary show.
When you are a creative person, you need to constantly challenge yourself, and even though this show is really amazing and fun as it is, I don’t feel like it’s challenging for me anymore.
DeGeneres had problems in the past to coordinate his departure, since, according to different sources, in 2018, his wife Portia de Rossi encouraged her to leave behind her program, which consists of 180 shows a year, while his brother and Warner Bros. executives asked him to stay with him.
However, it is believed that one of the reasons DeGeneres could be ending his legendary show is the multiple allegations of a toxic work environment within the production staff due to their bad attitude that were published in July of last year.
At that time, the host openly and publicly apologized, although soon after, the three main producers of the show, Ed Glavin, Kevin Leman and Jonathan Normam, decided to resign. However, DeGeneres clarified that while the controversy impacted his show, it is not the reason behind his decision.
