Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk stressed that he did not urge anyone to invest in cryptocurrencies and all accusations of promoting the “Dogecoin pyramid” are groundless.
Earlier, US citizen Keith Johnson sued Elon Musk for promoting Dogecoin and demanded a $258 billion refund. Johnson said Dogecoin is a scam and Musk should accept responsibility for promoting this pyramid scheme.
However, according to Musk himself, his support for this coin cannot be regarded as a call for investment or a promise of significant profits. In a conversation with Bloomberg News Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait, Musk said:
“I never said that someone needs to invest in cryptocurrencies. In the case of Tesla, SpaceX and personally mine, we invested in bitcoin. However, this was only a small percentage of the total funds at my disposal.”
At the same time, the head of Tesla recently said that his commitment to Dogecoin has not gone away and he will continue to support the meme-cryptocurrency even amid a decline in the cryptocurrency market.
