THE tech-billionaire accused the tycoon George Soros’ foundation of wanting to destroy Western civilization, as he prepares to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in California. Earlier he had met Turkish President Erdogan in New York.
Elon Musk made the comment in response to a post by an X user who shared footage of people arriving on the Italian island of Lampedusa from northern Africa, with the comment about “invasion of Europe under the leadership of George Soros”. “The Soros foundation seems to want nothing less than the destruction of Western civilization,” wrote the owner of X.
It is recalled that last May Musk claimed that George Soros “hates humanity”. He had specifically written that ‘Soros reminds me of Magneto’ the mutant anti-hero from the ‘X-Men’ comic series.
Hungarian-American businessman George Soros has been the subject of multiple anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. Elon Musk has been accused by civil rights groups of promoting anti-Semitism in his platform, which he denies. He is scheduled to meet with Netanyahu today for talks that both men said would focus on artificial intelligence technology rather than the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), with which Musk is at loggerheads over anti-Semitism at X.
But the Washington Post reported last week that the meeting was the latest step in a campaign by Musk’s Jewish friends and allies to fend off growing criticism surrounding his … spewing anti-Semitic rhetoric at X. Elon Musk has threatened to sue the ADL, a US-based civil rights advocacy group that campaigns against anti-Semitism and bigotry, accusing it of trying to destroy his platform.
