Law enforcement agencies in Moscow discovered illegally installed mining equipment on the territory of a mental hospital in the Butyrka prison, known as the Cat House.
how informs MK.RU, organized an underground mining farm by one of the leaders of the pre-trial detention center. He placed equipment in the premises of the Cat House and used government energy to mine bitcoins. The case is currently under investigation by the committee.
“And in our psychiatric hospital, some people are engaged in mining,” one of the prisoners told human rights activists during an inspection of the pre-trial detention center as a member of the PMC.
According to the publication, due to the operation of the mining equipment, the energy consumption of the organization increased by 9,000 kW. One of the deputy heads of the pre-trial detention center was fired for organizing a mining farm.
A criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Exceeding official powers”. The minimum punishment for it is provided in the form of a fine, the maximum – up to four years in prison.
Recall that recently law enforcement agencies of Dagestan discovered an underground mining farm for 1,500 devices.
