the consumption of energy electricity in Brazil had a 5.7% reduction in October compared to the same period last year, amid milder temperatures in the Southeast and South regions, according to preliminary data from the Electric Energy Trading Chamber (CCEE) presented this Monday (8).
Altogether, the country used 62,918 average MW of the National Interconnected System (SIN) in the last month.
For CCEE, the milder temperatures contributed to the drop in energy consumption, since there was less demand for air conditioning.
The regulated market, which supplies energy to smaller consumers, such as small businesses and homes, demanded 40,614 average MW, 10.4% less than last year.
The free market, which serves companies linked to high voltage, such as industries and shopping malls, used 22,304 average MW, an increase of 4.2% in the annual comparison.
