Erdogan: Offered Zelensky to mediate for peace between Russia and Ukraine

THE Ukraine may rejects Putin’s two-day truce to celebrate Christmasbut the Volodymyr Zelensky agreed to his proposal Recep Tayyip Erdogan to assume the latter role mediator on the two warring sides to achieve peace.

The Turkish president had a phone call with his Ukrainian counterpart and during their conversation today they discussed, among other things, cooperation on security issues related to the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, prisoner exchange and the grain agreement.

We discussed issues of security cooperationparticularly in relation to the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant – the occupiers should not be there – the exchange of prisoners of war, the development of the grain agreement. I was glad to hear that Turkey is ready to participate in the implementation of our own peace plan“, says a post of the Ukrainian president.

It is noted that the adviser to the Ukrainian presidency Mihailo Podoliak, reiterated today that Kyiv rejects any peace deal that would allow Moscow to keep Ukrainian territories seized by Russian forces. “The Russian Federation (Putin) with the word ‘talks’ proposes to Ukraine and the world to recognize ‘its right to occupy foreign territories’ and ‘establish the absence of legal consequences for mass killings on foreign soil’.” It is absolutely unacceptable,” said Podoliak.
