Erdogan: We are not going to war with Greece

After the dignified behavior he displayed during the Synod, the Turkish President returns to the provocative rhetoric by launching a double attack against the Greek Prime Minister on the return plane from Madrid as well as after the prayer, with his eyes fixed on his inner audience, according to what ertnews broadcasts.

In particular, new reports about Greece were made by the president of Turkey, Tayyip Erdogan, who after the Friday prayer said that “we are not going to go to war with Greece, but Greece is not keeping its promises”.

As reported by ERT’s correspondent in Istanbul, Ariana Feretinou, the Turkish president continued by saying that “if we are going to live peacefully as neighbors, why do you violate our airspace 147 times in a very short time. If you do this, my air force will give the appropriate response. If you continue this, the armed forces will continue to do their duty. Otherwise, our people will ask where is our air force.”

At another point, T. Erdogan said: “let’s say here that Mitsotakis kind of admitted that we are right, but many leaders tried to make us single, but we said that we are not considering this at the moment. If necessary we will consider the circumstances and we will assess the situation accordingly.”

Earlier, Tayyip Erdogan once again expressed his refusal to meet with the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, saying that “it is not possible to meet if he does not comply”.

Tayyip Erdoğan mentioned that during the Summit almost all the presidents and prime ministers offered to mediate so that a meeting could be held with Kyriakos Mitsotakis by the end of this year, but he replied that at the moment he does not have time for such a meeting meeting.

“Because it is obvious” he continued “that they are arming the islands and on the other hand they are constantly violating our airspace”, while he wondered “who guarantees that the one who will now compromise with us will not provoke us by violating our airspace”.

Continuing on the same logic, he said there is still an attempt to send a message by going to the islands, by building concrete shelters and digging pits. “He (Mr. Mitsotakis) does not have good intentions. He would not have taken these steps if he had good intentions. After he did them I am sorry, but we cannot meet. We said that we will not hold the High Level Strategic Council Meeting this year. We must he is waiting for developments in Turkey. Let him sort himself out. It is not possible for us to meet if he does not comply.”
