ERGOSE: The files for the new generation railway projects of 4 billion euros are opened

The files for the six new generation railway projects, totaling 4 billion euros, run by ERGOSE, will be gradually opened.

Today, Friday, the expression of interest files for the section of the railway network that will connect Rio with the new port of Patras were opened.

It is noted that the specific project, but also in the other five, have shown interest in the bands: GEK TERNA – INTRACAT, AKTOR – MYTILINEOS and AVAX – ALSTOM.

The files of the three schemes were handed over to the competent committee which is expected to complete the verification of the legal documents of the participants in about one and a half months.

ERGOSE will then invite the candidates who meet the criteria to participate in the second phase of the competition which includes the conduct of the competitive dialogue and the submission of tenders.

It is noted that the auction budget of the Rio – Patras project amounts to 477 million euros (excluding VAT) and concerns the design and construction of a new double railway line in the Rio – New Port of Patras, with a total length of approximately 11 km.

The delineation of the new line is located for the most part on the delineation of the existing metric line which is currently in operation. Includes all the works for the construction of the new double railway line, ie the works of infrastructure, infrastructure, stations and stops, the installation of signaling systems and ETCS Level 1, electrification and environmental restoration works. Part of the project, which passes through a dense urban fabric within the city of Patras, will be underground. The new passenger railway stations to be constructed will replace the 8 existing ones and a new surface station will be constructed at the New Port of Patras.

The rest of the files are expected to be opened gradually within the next week.
