“Alien: Romulus” the newest film in the horror and science fiction film franchise that began in 1979 with “Alien”, premieres on August 15th in theaters, and had its premiere in the city of Varginha (MG), this Tuesday (13). The city has been known since the 1990s for unusual episodes involving extraterrestrial beings.
The film’s story takes the hit franchise back to its roots. While exploring the depths of an abandoned space station, a group of young space colonists come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe.
The new horror thriller takes advantage of the natural climate of tension for which the city in the interior of Minas Gerais is known.
The city became famous after a series of episodes that occurred in the region, including reports of people who saw unidentified flying objects and strange beings, which did not look like humans or animals.
The premiere was attended by names such as Gkay, Daniel Pires, Lucas Cunha, Cocielo and Christian Figueiredo and resulted in a meeting at Via Café Shopping Center.
Varginha (MG) also had a series of activations, including a wrapped bus, sound car, billboard, store announcer, TV and radio spots, among others.
“Alien: Romulus” stars Cailee Spaeny (Civil War), David Jonsson (Agatha Christie’s Murder is Easy), Archie Renaux (Shadow and Bone), Isabela Merced (The Last of Us), Spike Fearn (Aftersun) and Aileen Wu.
The film is directed by Fede Alvarez (Evil Dead, Don’t Breathe), who together with Rodo Sayagues also wrote the script for the work based on the characters created by Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett.
